For the benefit of the Ecuadorian families living in the Amazon, a new 120-meter-long suspension bridge will soon be inaugurated that will connect the provinces of Pastaza and Morona Santiago, in the Mera Canton (Cumand\u00e1). This viaduct is financed by the Amazon Technical Secretary and the Morona Santiago Prefecture, together with the Chaka Cumand\u00e1 Consortium and the Ecuadorian Construction Company Sedemi, to build this large-scale project that will bring its inhabitants a better development of the economy by increasing the production of dragon fruit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00a0This bridge will allow the passage of heavy transport that will help the mobilization and commercialization of products from the area, it will increase tourism to Morona Santiago, allowing tourists to visit this wonderful place that has extensive green areas in a natural setting that includes exceptional flora and fauna, as well as waterfalls, lagoons and rivers; besides being the main producer of dragon fruit, locally exporting this aphrodisiac fruit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This mega infrastructure is 100% Ecuadorian, carried out thanks to the effort and knowledge of Sedemi, a company that has vast experience in large-scale projects during its 45 years of trajectory. Its highly trained staff was involved in the entire construction of the bridge, including Mr. Carlos Alb\u00e1n, Head of Sedemi Urban Projects, who pronounced himself proud to participate in this work. “It was a project that entailed challenges for all those in charge, both operational and technical, which will undoubtedly become a path of progress for the entire region,” Alb\u00e1n mentioned.<\/p>

Most of the structure was manufactured at Sedemi\u00b4s high-tech plant, located in Sangolqu\u00ed, which was transported to the point of construction to join two provinces of the Amazon. Many obstacles were encountered both in logistics and in the route that was chosen, since the pieces were large, approximately 7 meters long and 6 meters wide.<\/p>

Despite the challenges that were successfully overcome, the immediacy in which the project was completed was magnificent, since it usually takes six months to build a bridge of such dimension, being installed in just two and a half months based on the technique that was used in the execution process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Carlos Zabala, President of the Planning Council of the CTA (Amazon Technical Secretary) declared, “This bridge is a desire for the citizens and in fact brings progress and development for the Amazonian population.<\/p>

This is only the first of many projects that will continue in both provinces and will provide important access to Macas. “We believe the construction of this bridge is necessary since it represents connectivity and economic productivity, we have declared this road as the dragon fruit route, since this emblematic fruit can be transported to the Andean Region and the Ecuadorian Coast\u201d commented Rafael Antuni, Morona Santiago Prefect.<\/p>

The bridge will be delivered as soon as it is finished, promising to be a source of important economic development for the Amazon, making visible the progress of its provinces and society, who will benefit from this project.
